Citroen - 16 2.0 CITREON C4 GRAND PICASSO - Dave_ EPB is, IMHO, a solution to a problem that did not exist The benefits are: no more seized handbrake cables on older/rarely used vehicles; freedom for designers to locate the switch elsewhere other than between the seats; the same components can be used in both LHD and RHD vehicles; more automation i.e. "drive-thru" handbrake release, "auto-hold

Hi, in my experience with my 07 plate exclusive the handbrake, esp/asr fault can be associated with numourous unrelated electrical faults. I had these faults a few weeks ago a couple of months after fitting a new clutch and flywheel, eventually the car threw the faults up and refused to even start or show any gears on the display.
The brake pedal switch or gear stick selector switch is bad; There is a miscommunication between the EPB module and either of the switches; The EPB module or actuator has an electrical fault; The electronic parking brake motor has jammed or failed; You have corroded parking brake cables. This is a common brake system problem in Honda civic.
